Italian Version

(The Magnificent Seven)

The Pope visits Toronto; the path of same-sex marriage in Ontario; the occupation of a high school in Pescara seen from within; the Gothic frontline narrated by a Salò fascist and a partisan; the last trip of the submarine "Enrico Toti". And: the crisis of the form of government in Israel, the pinnacle of the AIDS epidemic twenty years after the discovery of the virus; the American Republican Party uses fraudulent astroturfing; the phenomenon of adolescent suicide.
These are just a few of the subjects that I have dealt with in the last few years as a freelance collaborator and an editor for D - La Repubblica delle Donne, Diario della settimana, Il Corriere Canadese, Campus, Il Mucchio Selvaggio, Aut, Babilonia, Il Centro di Pescara, La Provincia di Cremona and Il Ducato of Urbino.

I spent a few years as a freelance journalist, and I did so successfully. I entered the albo dei professionisti dell'Ordine (Roll of Professional Journalists) in March 2003 and I gladly received two important national prizes for up-and-coming journalists in 2001 and 2002, "Erich Fromm" award and the "Mario Formenton" scholarship.

I have had the satisfaction of seeing these and other articles published on some Italian newspapers of the great prestige. But for every successful article there are many others that have been rejected and, in the worst cases, published without paying me (for the joy of my lawyers, to which I sometimes give a lot of work).
Being a freelance journalist in Italy is a difficult and uncomfortable profession. In theory there would be an association price that establishes the legal minimum for each article, but for the moment the only magazine that respects this minimum, of those that I collaborate with, is D, the Saturday supplement of journal "La Repubblica".

If you are familiar with Italian, you can read what I call "The Magnificent 7" in this page, that is, the articles that made me happiest to see published. If you are a director or a managing editor in search of a good writer, I can dig up some truffle news, or better yet, if you would like to commission an argument for me, don't hesitate to contact me. Obviously, my English is not as good as my Italian, and my articles in the language of Shakespeare will always need to be proof-read by a an editor whose native language is English.
